in the mid 1960s, warhol adopted the band the velvet underground, making them a crucial element in his multimedia performance art show : he also designed the cover for their 1967 debut, the velvet underground and nico : the cover is so iconic that the album is often referred to as "the banana LP" : a collection of andy warhol album covers, including his covers for the rolling stones and the velvet underground, will be on display at urbanscape gallery :
